Lumbini Park Lumbini Park is a recent addition to the amusement parks of Hyderabad. Situated on the banks of the Hussain Sagar, it offers great view of the lake, especially after sundown. It is open to public from Tuesday to Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Indira Park In the heart of the city this large park is named after Indira Gandhi. It lies on the lower Tank Bund road beside the Hussain Sagar. It covers what looks like an endless area of trees, ponds and groves. Boat rides are offered at the small lake located in the center of the park. Several small stalls and stores stock cool drinks and snacks. Covering acre after acre of lush vegetation, it makes a good picnic and play spot. Parks Public Gardens The Public Gardens are the largest gardens in the city. Within it's premises are a number of important public buildings including the State Legislative Assembly. A stone's throw away from the Hyderabad railway station, is one of the best laid out gardens in the country. With buildings of the State Legislature, State Archaeological Museum, Jubilee Hall, Jawahar Bal Bhavan and Telugu Lalitha Kala Thoranam-an open air theatre. Nehru Zoological Park Sprawling across 300 lush green acres, the Nehru Zoological park is one of the biggest zoos in Asia with over 250 species. 2450 animals and birds are kept in natural environment. The lion safari park, the first in Asia, natural history museum, pre-historical animals park, nocturnal birds, a children park with a train ride are other impressive sights. It's special sections and amusement facilities are a popular draw. Sanjeevaiah Park Sprawling across 300 lush green acres, the Nehru Zoological park is one of the biggest zoos in Asia with over 250 species. 2450 animals and birds are kept in natural environment.
